Bottom Fish Trip

Location: On the ocean off
the Coos and Umpqua Rivers

Season:
January - April
October - December

$300 per person, Maximum 6.

*Due to the incresed cost of doing buisness, I regrettably need to raise my prices until we can curb inflation, and gas prices start to come back down.

I'm sorry to do this, but I'm hoping it's temporary.

-Troy

Join me on the ocean off the Coos and Umpqua Rivers for some great bottom fishing.  We aren't too far off shore and sometimes we are fishing right in the mouth of the river.

Know Before You Go!
Here's my FAQ section on Bottom Fishing so you know what we're getting into.

What Kind of Fish Do We Catch?

Lingcod - It isn't a pretty fish, but it's tasty! Lingcod have an elongated body with a large mouth and sharp, canine-like teeth. They are generally mottled gray or brown but sometimes green or blue. A green-colored “ling” should not be confused with a greenling. Lingcod can get 5-feet long, but those caught in Oregon average between 2- and 3-feet.

Seabass or Rockfish- Rockfish which include Black Sea Bass, Blue Sea Bass, China Rockfish, Canary Rockfish

How Big Are These Fish?

They average anywhere from 2-15 pounds  for the Seabass and 5-25 pounds for the Lingcod.

What Do I  Need to Bring for the Trip?

ODFW Fishing License  can be purchased here

https://myodfw.com

There is a MyODFW app for your phone that works for purchasing a license.

Lunch, snacks and beverages for yourself, and or your guests. I would recommend something that would fit in a small cooler. Bring warm clothes, rain gear and a hat just to be safe.

Ninkasi has graciously provided beer if interested.

Do NOT bring Bananas please.  It may be a superstition, but I have stories!

When and Where are we Meeting?

All trips begin when it is light out and last until our limit is met or 3pm; whichever comes first.

The meeting location will be decided at least a week before the trip.

Again, all participants are responsible for their own meals and ODFW fishing licenses and tags.
