Know Before You Go!
Here's my FAQ section on Salmon fishing so you know what we're getting into.
What The Heck Is A Chinook or a Coho Salmon?
There are two main types of Salmon that can be caught in Oregon. The Coho (Silver) and the Chinook (King) salmon. Salmon are migratory species, meaning they will breed and spawn in rivers, then live most of their adult life in the ocean before returning to the same river to spawn again. Typically salmon season begins as these fish are coming back into the river systems.
These fish are incredibly tasty and Fall Chinook can get as big as 35-40 pounds
We will be trolling for these fish on both the river and in the ocean.
Larger Salmon can put up a real fight, so be prepared for some hard work when it comes to reeling them in.

How Big Are These Fish?
The average size for Coho is about 15-20 pounds
The average size for Chinook is about 20-30 pounds

What Do I Need to Bring for the Trip?
ODFW Fishing License can be purchased here
There is a MyODFW app for your phone that works for purchasing a license.
Lunch, snacks and beverages for yourself, and or your guests. I would recommend something that would fit in a small cooler. Bring warm clothes, rain gear and a hat just to be safe.
Ninkasi has graciously provided beer if interested.
Do NOT bring Bananas please. It may be a superstition, but I have stories!

When and Where are we Meeting?
All trips begin when it is light out and last until our limit is met or 3pm; whichever comes first.
The meeting location will be decided at least a week before the trip.
Again, all participants are responsible for their own meals and ODFW fishing licenses and tags.
